Sat 12/3 • 9AM - 11AM PST

Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook • Culver City CA

Join us for another outdoor hike with alumni and members from the Stanford Latino Alumni, UC Berkeley Latino Business Student Association Alumni Fund, UCLA Alliance for Latinx Management at Anderson and Bruin Professionals. We will capture a group photo at the beginning of the hike and at the top of the overlook.

About the hike:
This 5-6 mile trail hike in the heart of LA will be led by Mark May of Stanford Outdoors Club. We will start in Culver City and ascend to the top of the famous Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook. Hikers can choose to go up via the 282 stairs or a switchback trail. We will then follow the Park to Playa Trail across the new La Cienega pedestrian bridge for an exploration of Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area. We will stop at the Stoneview Nature Center along the way. For most of the hike we will enjoy gorgeous views of the entire sweep of LA basin, from Santa Monica to the San Gabriel mountains and beyond. Elevation gain is approximately 750 feet.

Point of Contact for the day of the hike: Cesar Pacheco, UCLA Latino Alumni Association President (559) 800-6516 or latino@alumni.ucla.edu.

Meeting Place: Corner of Duquesne Avenue and Jefferson Boulevard (at the signs that say Culver City Park, Bill Botts Field)

Parking: Metered street parking available. Free parking is a short distance on Duquesne or Jefferson.

Restrooms: None at the start, but multiple facilities along the way.

Attire: Most of the hike will be on a dirt trail. Hiking shoes are generally not needed, but if we had a lot of rain there will be some muddy spots. Wear your UCLA gear!
