UCLA Volunteer Day: TreePeople in Santa Clarita with the UCLA Volunteer Center

Sat 10/5/2024 • 8AM PDT

San Francisquito Canyon • Santa Clarita CA

TreePeople inspires and supports the people of Southern California to come together to plant and care for trees, harvest the rain, and renew depleted landscapes.

Join TreePeople and CalFire in the beautiful San Francisquito Canyon of the Angeles National Forest. Below the rocky hills of the Sierra Pelona mountains, next to a creek leading to the Santa Clara River, we will be restoring an area of the wildlands damaged by the Copper Fire by caring for the native chaparral plants which provide deer, coyotes and others with food and shelter. Volunteers will spend the morning watering native plants, removing invasive species, and more.

Important Note:
Please do not put this location in any navigation system other than Google, as it has sent people the wrong way. The GPS should take you up the 5, off at Magic Mountain Parkway or nearby, and then through the streets to San Francisquito Canyon Road. If you are coming from the LA area, the dirt parking area will be on the right. After parking, follow the walking directions!
