Urology Interest Group (UIG)
Part of the career development opportunities that the David Geffen School of Medicine offers are specialty interest groups for the multitude of medical specialties that we can pursue post medical school. The Urology Interest Group (UIG) is the specialty interest group with the mission of exposing medical students earlier to the field of Urology. We host at a minimum of 3 events yearly. These include an introductory talk from our esteemed faculty giving an introduction to Urology, and clarifying the many misconceptions that students may come into medical school with and highlighting the underappreciated parts of the field that many procedural-favoring students might overlook. Additionally we host a suturing workshop where we learn surgical skills and see cool procedures in the Urology. And lastly we have a match panel with matched M4 medical students to reflect on their experiences at DGSOM and how to maximize your time in medical school.
