Dean and Distinguished Professor Celine Parreñas Shimizu will share her vision for the new academic year and TFT Advocate Awards will be bestowed to this year's honorees:

?Greg Sarris, acclaimed author, playwright, screenwriter, and producer
?Rick Carter, two-time Academy Award-winning production designer
?And Carol Burnett, renowned actress and comedienne, is a UCLA alumna
Nicole R. Fleetwood, Paulette Goddard Professor in Media, Culture, and Communication at NYU Steinhardt and MacArthur Fellow will introduce the Dean and open the event.
