Reinventing the Family Legacy

Tue 11/19/2024 • 5PM PST

Conference Center hosted by Clavius

Join us for a reception featuring delicious offerings from 9 Julio Empanada Kitchen, along with drinks, before an engaging discussion with David Wilson. They will explore the history of the James Bond series, the evolution of new entertainment mediums, and the power of collaborative ventures.

In 1962, Sean Connery introduced Ian Fleming's iconic character with the line, "Bond, James Bond." More than 25 films and 60 years later, EON Productions, co-founded by Albert R. "Cubby" Broccoli and Harry Saltzman, still leads the longest-running film franchise in history. After Saltzman's departure in 1975, Cubby continued until 1995, when his daughter Barbara Broccoli and stepson Michael G. Wilson took over, elevating the series with films like GoldenEye, Casino Royale, and Skyfall. EON’s influence includes an impressive portfolio of other films and theatrical productions, such as The Rhythm Section, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and others.

David G. Wilson, Michael’s son and a third-generation Broccoli/Wilson family member, began contributing as a teen to eleven films, including six Bond films and served as an executive producer for Bond video game adaptations. Now CEO of Shared Experience Art Machine Ltd., he drives the family's legacy forward, exploring new entertainment and collaborative ventures, ensuring the franchise’s continued evolution.
