This month’s luncheon features a special presentation by the L.A. Philharmonic Affiliates’ Speakers Bureau. Through historic photos, vintage postcards and music, the program traces the Hollywood Bowl’s evolution from its beginnings in the 1920s as Daisy Dell, a popular picnic spot in a canyon above Hollywood, to its rise as a world-renowned stage for generations of performers.
Discover how the vision of a doctor’s wife inspired an entire community to contribute their pennies and dollars, ultimately creating what would become one of the city’s most famous landmarks.
Speakers Bureau and Westwood Women's Bruin Club member Jeanne Davenport will lead an interactive Hollywood Bowl trivia session and invite audience members to share their own cherished memories of the Bowl.
