In an afternoon session featuring a keynote speech by Indigenous Zapotec artist Porfirio Gutiérrez and two panels organized by the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Arts Network, diasporic artists, cultural workers, and educators convene to explore pathways toward transformation and inclusivity in education. The panels address strategies for deconstructing and reconstructing pedagogy, expanding knowledge beyond West-centric frameworks, and holding institutions accountable to the public. Participants also unpack the complexities of decolonization, examining its intersections with contemporary settler colonialism and the ongoing barriers to Indigenous sovereignty, self-determination, and land rights. Together, they aim to envision a more equitable and culturally enriched future for generations to come.

Keynote speech by Zapotec artist Porfirio Gutiérrez.
Panels are introduced by curator, writer, and art historian Danielle Shang.
