Time Tue 7/7 • 7:30PM PDT

Hammer Museum, 10899 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90024

Co-presented with the Safeguarding Democracy Project at UCLA Law

With rulings on major issues expected by the start of summer 2026, the United States Supreme Court is once again at the center of key legal and policy debates. An all-star panel of legal scholars analyzes the meaning and implications of the latest Supreme Court cases and rulings on issues including: birthright citizenship, gun rights, tariffs, voting rights, election and campaign finance rules, the president’s power to fire agency commissioners and members of the Federal Reserve, the treatment of transgender athletes, and much more. The panelists will also consider the implications of these rulings on the role of the courts in response to the Trump Administration’s broad assertions of executive power.

Panelists include: Cary Franklin, Justin Levitt, Eugene Volokh, and Kimberly West-Faulcon. Moderated by Rick Hasen, Director of Safeguarding Democracy Project at the University of California, Los Angeles.
