Bruin Underground Scholars Program

The Bruin Underground Scholars (BUS) Transfer Empowerment Workshop supports system-impacted and formerly incarcerated students preparing to transfer from community college to a four-year university. In collaboration with the UCLA Office of Undergraduate Admission, the workshop provides participants with guidance on Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) and Transfer Alliance Program (TAP) pathways, UC transfer preparation, the transfer admissions process, admissions requirements, and FAFSA planning while connecting with peers and staff who understand their experiences. To increase access, the workshop is offered as a virtual experience, allowing students who are unable to travel to UCLA to participate, engage with presenters, and access the same information and resources from anywhere.
