Climate change poses serious threats to pregnant people, mothers, and those hoping to have children — from toxic exposures and miscarriage to guilt, anxiety, and grief. Join us for a talk with Jade S. Sasser, PhD, Professor of Environmental Studies at UC Riverside, as she examines these challenges and how birth workers, organizers, and elected officials are mobilizing for policy change.

Dr. Sasser is the author of On Infertile Ground (NYU Press, 2018) and Climate Anxiety and the Kid Question (UC Press, 2024), and hosts a podcast by the same name. Her forthcoming book explores climate change's health impacts on pregnant people and mothers.
