Join live, listen in, and come ready with questions. Take good care. September 2025: FITWELL Talks Longevity: Healthy Lifestyle Approaches to Narrow the Healthspan-Lifespan Gap with Linda Ercoli, PhD Description: Although people worldwide are living longer, there is about a 9-year difference between total years lived and years lived without chronic disease, especially in older age. The healthspan lifespan gap means that the last years of people’s lives are often fraught with chronic illnesses which diminishes quality of life. Dr. Ercoli will talk about lifestyle choices that can extend health in older age and narrow the healthspan-lifespan gap. https://www.uclahealth.org/providers/linda-ercoli

Mindful Awareness Meditation

Time Thu 9/18 • 12:30PM - 1PM PDT

Billy Wilder Theater, Hammer Museum

Co-presented by UCLA Mindful, the mindfulness education center of UCLA Health. Enjoy Mindful Awareness Meditation in person every Thursday in the Billy Wilder Theater! Every session is also broadcast live right here on the Hammer's website. Whether you participate in person or online, Mindful Awareness Meditation is offered every Thursday at 12:30 PM. Mindful awareness meditation is the moment-by-moment process of actively and openly observing one’s physical, mental, and emotional experiences. Mindfulness has scientific support as a means to reduce stress, improve attention, boost the immune system, reduce emotional reactivity, and promote a general sense of health and well-being. These half-hour weekly sessions are open to people of all levels of experience. Sessions are open to people at all experience levels and are led by Diana Winston, Director of UCLA Mindful, Allyson Pimentel, Co-Director of Mindful USC, and other instructors from UCLA Mindful. Sessions are also simulcast live online at hammer.ucla.edu. Past audio sessions are available on the UCLA Mindful website and on the UCLA Mindful App. Listen to the session from Thursday, January 9.
