Second Chance Film Festival
Sun 6/28
James Bridges Theatre
We welcome you to this year’s first collaborative Second Chance Festival with UCLA’s Prison Education Program. Join us for a day of films and meaningful conversations exploring incarceration, reentry, and what a second chance can look like. The festival will feature screenings of The Alabama Solution, The Strike, and The Inside Scholars.
In honor of Second Chance Month, this collaborative film festival brings together students, educators, and community members to engage with stories that illuminate the lived realities of incarceration and the transformative power of education. Hosted in partnership with the Prison Education Program, the event will include a curated film screening followed by a guided discussion focused on second chances, reentry, and the structural role of education in advancing justice and equity.
This space is intended to foster reflection, dialogue, and collective learning while uplifting voices and experiences often marginalized within higher education spaces.
