UCLA Library Special Collections Curatorial Open House: Food and Culinary History
Thu 10/22 • 4PM - 5PM PDT
Charles E. Young Research Library, Distinctive Collections Classroom, A-Level
Join curators from Library Special Collections as they offer the UCLA community an opportunity to see and engage with materials that document food and culinary history. This will include materials that represent food and culinary history locally, internationally and across time periods. Beyond providing nourishment, food serves as a connection across cultures and societies, with agriculture, foodways and cuisines offering insights into community history, traditions and social structures. Examine how materials that include cookbooks, recipes, photographs and menus offer insight into the ways food connect us to each other.
RSVP encouraged.
