The Panhellenic Council hosts a formal recruitment process which occurs during the True Bruin Welcome Week (zero week). Recruitment will begin on Sunday and continue through Monday 10/2. Potential New Members or PNMs visit each chapter on a specific schedule. In addition, some Panhellenic chapters are eligible to accept new members after formal recruitment. Pre-registration and attending Orientation is required. Students who register will receive information about Orientation and the recruitment process. For more information about joining a Panhellenic Association organization, visit www.uclapanhellenic.com.
Health Insurance is Mandatory within the UC system. To fulfill this requirement, UCLA automatically enrolls all registered students in UC SHIP (UC Student Health Insurance Plan) at the start of a new academic year. Each academic term, the UC SHIP health fee is billed through BruinBill along with other UCLA fees. If you are covered by an insurance policy that meets waiver criteria and do not want to utilize UC SHIP benefits, you can request to cancel UC SHIP enrollment by submitting an online waiver application with supporting documentation during a waiver period. An approved waiver application will be valid for the remainder of the academic year. Each term you will receive a waiver credit to negate the billed amount. Waiving UC SHIP is an annual process and must be completed each academic year to avoid automatic enrollment.

The Interfraternity Council (IFC) is the governing body of the nationally recognized fraternity chapters at the University of California, Los Angeles. The IFC oversees 18 social fraternities and about 1000 UCLA Students. IFC works to provide programming and leadership opportunities within the Greek community, the Bruin community, and the greater Los Angeles area. Students interested in joining an IFC fraternity will need to register for recruitment and can do so by visiting www.ifcucla.com or @ifcucla on Instagram. Registering and attending Orientation is required.
Many fraternities and sororities in the Multi-Interest Greek Council welcome new members throughout the first few weeks of the fall quarter. Chapters may also host recruitment or rush activities during the winter and spring quarters. Bienvenida! Join the Latinx Greek Council as they welcome any student interested in Latinx fraternities and sororities and looking to build community around shared heritage and experiences. Most fraternities and sororities in the Latinx Greek Council choose the time when they wish to accept new members through developing "interest" in the fall quarter. The fraternities and sororities that make up the ""Divine Nine"" of the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) conduct membership intake at a time of a chapter's choosing. Each fall quarter during True Bruin Welcome Week (zero week), the Asian Greek Council (AGC) coordinates a "Rush Week" where students who are interested in joining a fraternity or sorority have an opportunity to preview each organization. Chapters offer bids, or invitations to join at the end of "Rush Week". AGC chapters will recruit new members in fall and may recruit in spring quarter. Recruitment events are hosted by each chapter during the evenings and the weekend during True Bruin Welcome. Registration is not required. Each fall quarter during True Bruin Welcome Week (zero week), the Interfraternity Council (IFC) coordinates a more formal recruitment week where students who are interested in joining a fraternity have an opportunity to preview each organization. Chapters offer most of their bids, or invitations to join by the end of their recruitment events by Saturday, September 30th. Some chapters will continue to have independent recruitment events and offer invitations to join their chapters throughout the fall quarter. There is also a smaller scale recruitment period in the winter and spring; however, not all chapters participate.
Beginning at the UCLA Bike Shop, tour some of the infrastructure and amenities here at UCLA that integrate cycling into the daily routines of students and staff. This FREE short inclusive ride culminates at an inviting outdoor spot where we'll enjoy some coffee and socialize before going about our days. Meet people and reflect on the seamless blend of active transportation, environmental consciousness, and the simple joy of a morning ride with a well-deserved coffee break.

A getting-to-know-you event connecting new students to the Physical Sciences community through casual, candid discussions with Physical Sciences alumni, faculty, and current undergraduates.
This event is geared toward new students interested in a Physical Sciences major or minor, including but not limited to:
biochemistry | chemistry | chemistry-materials science | math | applied math | math-economics | statistics | data theory | physics | astrophysics | biophysics | atmospheric, oceanic, and environmental science | climate science | geology | geology-engineering | geophysics | earth and environmental science
There will be two group RSVPs: Group A starts with a welcome from Dean of Physical Sciences Miguel Garcia-Garibay. This will be followed by a panel of alumni answering some of your most common questions about the keys to success as a UCLA student. We will conclude with an outdoor reception where students will be able to meet the professors they are most likely to learn from during their first year, talk with more advanced UCLA students about their experiences, and interact with alumni who’ve gone on to a wide variety of careers taking advantage of the skills and knowledge they gained as UCLA Physical Science majors. Group B will do this in reverse!
Students who attend will have the opportunity to enter into a raffle for a gift from Dean Miguel García-Garibay, who will be there to welcome you to UCLA!

Chi Alpha Delta will host a rush dinner where interested students will get the opportunity to engage in meaningful interactions with both current active members and alumni.

The UCLA Volunteer Center’s inaugural event, UCLA Volunteer Day, has become a cornerstone of the UCLA experience. It is one of the university’s largest community service events and occurs during True Bruin Welcome.
Chi Alpha Delta will host a lovely picnic where interested students will get the opportunity to engage with current active members all while enjoying games, food, and prizes.
