Media Best Practices: Video Assignments, Lectures, and Introductions

This session demonstrates best practices for adding media to your course as well as utilizing media in student work, such as assignments and introductions. We will cover the following: - Upload and post videos to your course - Create video submission assignments - Create an introductory discussion with video You will be provided with documentation and resources that you can use to add these activities to your course. Efficient Grading and Feedback of Handwritten Assignments with Gradescope

Gradescope helps streamline the grading of handwritten exams, assignments, and Bubble Sheets while providing meaningful feedback to students. This workflow is especially suited for multiple choice, short-form, or mathematical responses. This session will cover how to create assignments, how students and instructors can upload work, and the basics of grading. Audience: Faculty, TAs

Westside Network: UCLA Alumni Pre-Thanksgiving Hike

@ We will be hiking Sullivan Fire Road in the Palisades with spectacular views of the Santa Monica mountains and a few spots with view of the Santa Monica Bay. It’s in and out so those who want a shorter hike can turn around 5 miles when we get to the overlook of Camp Josepho and the rest of us will continue on for a longer hike to a large oak tree about a mile or so further in for a longer hike of around 7/7.5 miles. There is streets parking on Casale if you turn right on Capri. If there is no parking on Casale, streets below should have parking. Please arrive early to account for time to find parking.
